Tracy...love this girl!!! We used to work together quite a few years ago and today she married the very wonderful Todd A. Getting ready was at the W hotel, the ceremony was at that funny wish-bone shaped church in Mission Valley and the reception was at the El Cortez. Tracy teaches kindergarten and both of her classes for this year attended the ceremony, it was just the cutest thing ever.

Julie and Scott flew 60 of their closest relatives and friends to an unforgettable wedding week in the West Indies. The Marriott is the most happening place on this tiny little island, this basically means the only things to do are to lounge around the pool, drink a lot, get spa treatments and eat great meals. It sounded like a very hard life but I was game to give it a go...
The rehearsal dinner was a lot of fun at a tiny out of the way beach shack called the Turtle Beach Bar & Grill. They are famous for having an enormous friendly pet pig that visits the tables. The wedding was beautiful.. under the palms trees facing the island of Nevis. The wedding day was really great, and not just because of the photo opportunities, but because everyone had had a few days to chill and get to know each other (if they didn't already) and the mood was so festive and warm because of this. I love the effect a destination wedding has on all the attendees.
Jade and Steve| Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel | October 22
Jade and Steve.. wow, how do I describe them? My little blog can't do them justice, but lets just say they are some of the most fun, larger than life people I've ever met. We started on Friday with a little photo session at the penthouse of the hard rock before their rehearsal party, not dinner, party! The penthouse is amazing, very vegas and even features a single lane bowling alley! Jade had the place decorated with items featuring the designs from playing cards... aces, spades.. etc.
The playing card theme was carried out throughout the wedding as well. The invitations, spot lighting, candies and cupcake display all features the familiar card suits, it was the perfect kind of kitsch mixed with a great club feel. Carol and Christy were the coordinators, imported to Vegas from here in San Diego to handle all the planning and details. Well done! Arturo from ArtQuest flowers also made the trek out to Vegas to do the decor and flowers. Simply stunning! The only thing that wasn't red, white or a shade of pink was Pink's hair.. which was blue! Congrats Jade and Steve... you pulled it off and it was amazing!
Kristy and Bryan| Fairbanks Ranch Club House| October 15
Kristy's Mom was the coordinator for this beautiful event at the Club House and she did an amazing job I might add! Kristy and Bryan live in Northern California so Mom's help was greatly appreciated. Kristy is pictured left in her 2nd Dad's kick-ass '57-ish (I'm guessing) Chevy Bel Air.. sweet! And pictured right she is dancing with her first Dad and getting quite a dip out of it! Sorry Bryan... I could only pick two images!! But you look quite handsome, don't worry!

TWINS!!!!! I got to photograph twins girls today, it was so great! The Albers' family won a gift certificate for a kids shoot from us. The were the high bidders in an auction to support the Junior League. Who knew giving to charity could be so fun!
Parker Hotel | Palm Springs | September 25
So today I can't really comment on the wedding couple, they weren't my clients, instead I was the 2nd shooter. I haven't been 2nd camera in a while, and I must say it was really fun! Instead of worrying about getting the family shots or this or that, I could just create some fun artistic images and have a blast in general. To the right is my study in "men's footwear" in this case I thought it well deserved. Gotta love a guy with great shoes!

Chocolate brown and baby blue... my favorite colors! Anne is such a sweetheart and John, though a little shy of the camera, managed to ignore the clicking just as he was supposed to. The most beautiful wedding for the nicest couple ever. And yay! I got to work with some of my favorite vendors: Darlington House, Adrianne Smith Floral, TK&A Catering & Michelle Coulon Pastries. Kelly is nearly ready to welcome a new baby boy into the world! Just a few weeks to go. Big sister likes to talk into Mom's bellybutton about the guitar she plans on getting. Kristin and Andy | Hotel Del Coronado | September 17
Kristin and Andy were married today at the Del under the most beautiful Huppa created by Adrianne Smith Floral Design. (For those of you considering the Hotel Del, Adrainne has a great huppa sample in the catering office you can take a look at). Lots of tears, laughs and hugs were present all day long as they tied the knot on the Windsor Lawn and danced to the "King Rhythm Babies" band in the Crown Room. Joanne brought her family and friends from New Zealand, Rob brought his side from England and a brother in a kilt was thrown in for good measure. This international wedding was celebrated at the Coronado Marriott with a marathon speech session and a cute Mad Hatter cake.
Meaghan and Ben | The Prado, San Diego | September 4
Meaghan and Ben were married today at St Francis chapel in Balboa Park where I was married myself just last year. Meaghan looked so good in a Monique Lhuillier lace gown and the reception at the Prado was beautiful. The flowers were by Adrianne Smith Floral, (my absolute favorite girl in town by the way!), and was coordinated by Kelly Aull of Mint Weddings. The event had a vintage/Anthropologie feel to it... mmm, I just loved it!
Kira and Brendan | Coronado Marriott | September 3
Jewels and Peacocks was the theme of the wedding for Kira and Brendan. Susanne Pelky of Crown Weddings put together one of the most beautiful events I've ever seen at the Coronado Marriott, hats off to her and her team! Kira is a ball of fire and Brendan tempered her perfectly, the two of them just were amazing together whether it was just hanging out alone or rallying the dancing this is a perfect pair!
Anne and John | San Diego, CA | August 30
Sometimes we do an engagement session not to just get some nice photos, but to get the bride and groom used to being photographed. This sweet little session was at Anne and John's house with their pet beagle. We used this time just to get them used to my camera clicking away, I think it was time very well spent. I created some great images, we got them used working with the camera and we got them used to being photographed. I can't wait for the wedding!

Bill snuck up on Jennifer as she waited in the Lobby of the Lodge Torrey Pines, he took her by surprise. it was so cute! They had decided to do a private meeting before the ceremony so they could spend more time at their reception. Jen and Bill hosted the most romantic luncheon for their wedding. Their friends and family showered them with toasts and warm wishes. And to top it all of, Jen had the best shoes on out of everyone there!

Shannon is one of those people that makes you wonder just where all that energy comes from. She is a wonder and fabulous! I met Shannon nearly 9 years ago when we used to work together and she remember me when she was ready to tie the knot. Shannon and Dan's wedding was at the Hyatt Islandia, the one with the very cute koi pond and the incredible penthouse view, just perfect for the intimate reception and Seaworld fireworks.

A bright and sunny (read hot!) wedding day at the Coronado Marriott. Christina had the bridesmaids and flowers in pink, it was such a great contrast against her white dress and the white tent. I could tell this couple was very much loved by their family and friends as they gave some of the best toasts ever. Plus the night was topped off by great fireworks show over downtown San Diego, what more could you ask for?
Whitney and Seth | Pacific Beach, CA | August 7
We took Whitney and Seth to the new Tower 23 Hotel in Pacific Beach to start off their engagement session. Wow, what a great spot too! We then moved down to the beach and had a little fun in the sand looking for shells. Whitney and Seth will be married next May at The Lodge Torrey Pines.

Their beautiful wedding was held at St. Gregory the Great and the reception was at Admiral Kidd Club. The party was high energy and a ton of fun. Josephine did a fabulous job with the decor as well. All the accents were in Tiffany blue with many great details such as the votive seating chart.

A highly emotional wedding on the Campus of Our Lady of Peace. This couple met, amazingly, on www.catholicsingles.com. We used the campus for their photos after the ceremony. It highly recommend visiting if you like Spanish Colonial architecture. The couple's reception was at Shelter Pointe Hotel where they showed off their recent dance lessons to their guests.

Christina and Pete booked me over a year ago all the way from Japan. I didn't even get to meet them until about a month before their wedding when they finally came back to San diego. They had some really wonderful touches to their wedding, my favorite being the beautiful dogwood-painted parasols Christina bought for all her bridesmaids while still in Japan.

This couple was teary and emotional all through their ceremony, it was a special thing to witness. After taking a San Deigo Trolley to Balboa Park they had a beautiful reception at the Prado complete with a huge Mariachi ensemble and giant 30 person head table. Tracy was even lucky enough to get white peonies at the end of July, not an easy thing to do! Thank you to Kristi at Blush Weddings for a great event!

An emotional wedding with the most incredible light on the beach in Coronado. This was a great tight-knit group of family and Navy Seals... lots of emotion and happy tears. Jennifer arrived at the ceremony on horse-drawn carriage to the surprise of everyone, especially Chris.

Yay! Rosie and Josh got married today at St. Gregory the Great church with the reception following at the Thursday Club. Rosie is a real firecracker and partied like a rock-star with all her new husband and all her guests. I shot their Engagement Session earlier this year in May and got an inkling of how fun these two are, I was not disappointed as this was a very festive and fun-loving crowd. Loved the beautiful swarovski crystal filled toasting flutes too!

A nice detour and a beautiful day for me to visit this couple for their engagement session up at their home in Carlsbad. We started at their amazing Craftsmen house they have been restoring then moved on to a nice secluded beach off the 101. Nora and Andrew will be married in September at the Estancia Resort La Jolla.

We really got our workout with today's engagement session. We started at the La Valencia, it's such a beautiful hotel and a place Christina and Ryan visit often. We worked our way down to La Jolla cove, had some fun on the cliffs and in the surf, then walked back up to prospect and ended at the Hotel Parisi. We ended at the Parisi because this is where they were engaged.. out on the balcony overlooking downtown La Jolla. It was a beautiful session with a great couple. Their wedding will be in August at the Coronado Marriott.

Lynne Doyle coordinated this stunning ceremony and reception at Bridie's father's house in Rancho Santa Fe. A few of the many notable details were the dove release, glass dance floor over the pool, chocolate fountain, mini wedding cakes and a myriad of other yummy treats for their guests. I love little intimate weekday weddings. This one at the Hotel Del today was very cute. Just the Bride and Groom, minister, with us photographers as the witnesses! They brought their own radio and had their first dance right there on the sand after the ceremony.

After battling LA traffic to get down to San Diego for their engagement shoot we had to get Celinda and George a cocktail. We ended up atop the W hotel downtown at the Beach Bar, what a great spot! From there we explored a couple blocks through the trolley station and train station... a super location for a very "urban" couple. Their wedding will be in Old Town at the Immaculate Conception with reception at the El Cortez.

I have photographed many, many church weddings, pretty standard, stay in the back, don't move around, etc... This one was different though. These two met in college and have been inseparable ever since. I picked this lucky engaged couple up at their home in La Jolla and we spent the afternoon being silly in La Jolla cove. We even ran into another couple who had just been married at the Bridge club. As the new husband was hauling his bride over the seawall we snuck in a few shots. Courtney and Erik will be married in August at the La Jolla Hilton Torrey pines.

Wow, these two are a bundle of energy! We had a very fun engagement session today up at Torrey Pines State Beach. Rosie and Josh love to be outdoors and hike, so the preserve was a perfect spot to take them. Their wedding is coming up quickly at the end of June and will be at St. Gregory the Great church with the reception at the Thursday Club. With energy like this, the wedding is sure to be filled with great photo opportunities!

One of the cutest couples ever, Casey and Matt were just married at the Prado in Balboa Park. The ceremony was down at the wishing well with the reception in the Prado's main ballroom. Jill and Ken were married today at the L'Auberge Hotel in Del Mar. This wedding was beautiful and emotional, and made even better by the fact that both Jill and Ken each have three children that were standing for them at the ceremony. The candlelit reception was so cozy and the Michele Coulon cake was the perfect ending to this fairytale event.

Tracey and Scott will be getting married July 23rd at St. Paul's Cathedral with a reception at the Prado. Today's engagement session was very cool in that it was in the morning instead of the typical "sunset at the beach" session. This is great for photographs because the sun is behind us instead of in front...no backlit ocean shots!

Leigh and Tim met me today at the Prado for a little pre-shoot happy hour... all they needed was a little shot of tequila to loosen up, lol. They are getting married back in Leigh's hometown, but since they live in San Diego wanted to have a very "San Diego" engagement session. To me there is nothing more San Diego than Balboa Park!

Kira and Brendan were so cute! We met at the Hotel Del Coronado today to do their engagement session. Kira's family has strong ties to Coronado so they chose the island as the location today and also for the wedding which will be at the Coronado Marriott September 3rd this year. Puerto Vallarta is beautiful! We had the pleasure of photographing this amazing couple in the town's main church, then followed the newlyweds up a steep hill (followed by 10 mariachi!) to the incredible Hacienda de San Angel. This location wins so far as one of the most stunning wedding venues I have ever seen. I hear rumors that images from this event will appear in an upcoming Bride's magazine!
Adrianne's Bachelorette Weekend | April 1-3
Seven girls headed out for a party weekend to Las Rocas in Mexico for a little fun celebration in the honor of the Bride-to-be, Adrianne Smith. After a few spa treatments, a little sun, some karaoke and a lot of tequila I think Adrianne had a weekend she will long remember! Thanks Amy for arranging such a fun event!
Jennifer and Chris | Engagement Session
Jennifer and Chris started their first date at the British Pub in Little Italy, San Diego. Today that is where we started their engagement session as well. Jennifer wrecked her knee a few weeks back, but she was a trooper as I marched them around town, and even into some flower fields for some great images of them together. They will be married July 2, 2005 at the North Island Officer's Club.

Adrianne's trip to Santa Ynez | March 11
For the first time ever I get to be a bride's maid this year. My good friend Adrianne Smith (www.asmithfloral.com) is finally set to marry the wonderful "Cowboy" Steve on Memorial Day weekend up in Santa Ynez valley. This recent excursion north found us wine tasting to choose wines for the reception dinner as well as staying up to all hours trying to hot-wax seal her invitations. After all the rain we had recently the valley is a stunning shade of green dotted with incredible wildflowers.

Wow! Estancia La Jolla Hotel was amazing, I highly recommend checking it out! Christy & Rich's wedding went perfectly despite the rain (what is a little rain to a bunch of guests from Chicago anyway!) Christy wore a stunning lace dress by Oscar de la Renta with vintage accessories from Urbane Weddings and had the most yummy cake ever from Michele Coulon. Rachel Peniche owner of Plan It San Diego did a fabulous job planning, this event couldn't have been any better. I heard the next day that it was quite a scene by the 2nd after-party!
Michele & Declan Roche| January 29
Michele's brother was good friends with Declan long before this couple started dating and makes this union even more meaningful for all involved. This international event brought Declan's family all the way from Ireland to celebrate. The ceremony took place at the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala with the reception at the El Cortez.. decor & catering by Paul Bott & Co. and coordination by Suzanne Pelky at Crown Weddings. Michelle stunned us all by wearing a beautiful gold wedding gown and cathedral veil.
Nicole & Matthew Smith | January 9
Nicole (event manager) and Matthew (chef) both met in the hospitality industry so it makes sense that they pulled out all the stops when it came to food and wine at their event. Add to this the fact that Nicole's mom is a local florist and, well, you get the idea! Ok, so it was pouring rain for a while, but then almost everyone has had rain so far this year so they didn't let that stop the party. Ceremony & reception at Maderas Country Club.
