DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHEET
We all get those inquiries…. “how much will it cost to have you photograph my destination wedding?” What do you do to come up with the right price? Do you poke around online to see what airfare is? Maybe look at a discount package deal? How do you determine your total cost to go and shoot?
After years of quoting and photographing Destination Weddings I’ve developed a little spreadsheet that has helped me become more profitable and aware when quoting new opportunities. Gone are the days of just looking up airfare and hotel rates then quoting the couple a rock bottom price. Now my spreadsheet takes into consideration all the expenses that may be incurred on a trip as well as a detailed list of the actual photography options that may be being considered.
I’d like to share this worksheet with my peers to ensure you know exactly what a destination event will cost you. It is then up to you how much of the cost you choose to pass on to the client. My goal is for you to not lose any money, know your costs, and charge what you are worth!
Includes:
regular plus often overlooked travel expenses
detailed options for event coverage
package cost of goods
estimated vs. actual expenses
profit and loss summary
